Onorato Vico came to Australia in 1956 he worked as a Gelatiere Maestro at a gelato company.

He met his wife Caterina โ€˜Linaโ€™ Vico and married her in 1958. With a passion for food and their culture they travelled Australia opening restaurants wherever they went, offering authentic Italian cuisine.

Their first restaurant was in Collins street Melbourne VIC called Ill Piccolo Mondo.

They then moved to Brisbane QLD and opened a restaurant in Fortitude valley called Cortina Bar.

While raising a family of Three boys they decided to move to Griffith NSW and open its first Italian Restaurant called Belvedere in 1970 which was named after town that Onorato was born.

In 1977 they decided to open a new restaurant called La Scala. This is where they decided to stay and embed their roots until retirement.

Onorato and Lina were Pinoeers for italian food in Australia and were the first in this region to create an authentic Italian Dining Experience for the locals and Surrounding Areas. Everything was always made by hand and in house, specialising in Pasta, Pizza, Gelato, Coffee, as well as many other traditional meals.

Generations later we still carry on the same tradtions with a passion.
